HOW TO MAKE MONEY FROM YOUR ART
This must be one of the top asked questions in the world! And the answer is never a straight forward one. There are almost as many paths to monetize your art as there are artists. Everyone’s path is different.
I’m a self-taught artist and when I started there wasn’t too much information out there. Now the internet is a marvelous place where you have access to all kinds of artists and resources. Going at it alone, it has been a wild ride and I have made many mistakes and also learnt a lot. But I have succeeded at my dream: being able to support myself as a full-time artist, living between two countries and working for only 9 months a year. What I have found most helpful in my career is to keep learning constantly, as much as I can. And I like to do this in two realms: the art side, so I can hone my illustration skills, and the business side, because you need to manage your career as a business.
